Terms of Use

These terms explain what you can expect from WinTars and what we expect from you. By creating an account or using the strategy map, you agree to them.

Last updated: October 28, 2026

1What WinTars is

WinTars is an online tool for building Balanced Scorecard strategy maps: perspectives, objectives, key performance indicators, target dates, progress, owners and reporting lines. Sample maps show how the format works for an industry, a service company, a hospital or a nonprofit.

WinTars gives you a way to organize and measure strategy. It does not make the strategy for you, and nothing in the app is legal, accounting, audit, tax or investment advice.

2Your account and your content

You keep what you put in. Objectives, targets, results and notes you or your team enter belong to you and your organization. You are responsible for the accuracy of that content and for the decisions you make from it.

Keep your sign-in details safe and only give access to people who should have it. Anything entered by someone with access to your account is treated as yours. A map you set to Public can be seen by anyone who has the link, so choose that setting on purpose.

3Fair use of the tool

Use WinTars to plan and track your own organization's strategy. Do not copy, resell or redistribute the app or its design, try to break into or disable it, use it to store unlawful material, or send automated traffic at it. We may suspend an account that abuses the service.

4The app is provided as is

WinTars is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We build and maintain it carefully, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet any particular result. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

5Things outside our control

We are not responsible for problems we do not control, including:

  • Internet, phone, power, device or browser failures on your side, and anything lost because of them.
  • Outages, changes or limits of third-party services the app depends on, such as hosting, the sign-in provider, email delivery and the automatic translation of page text.
  • Actions of people you gave access to, or of people you shared a link or a map with.
  • Content, targets, results or decisions entered by you or your team, and any consequence of acting on them.
  • Delays or losses caused by force majeure: natural events, strikes, network failures, government action or similar occurrences.

6Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, WinTars and its owners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or lost business opportunities, even if we were told they might happen. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

7If you find a problem

Tell us. Write to contact@wintars.com with what you were doing, what you expected and what happened instead, plus the page and the map name if you know them. We read every report and we respond as soon as we can. We do not promise a fixed response time, but we will keep you informed while we look into it and we will do our best to fix it, work around it, or tell you plainly why we cannot.

We may add, change or pause features, and we may update these terms; the version posted here is the one that applies.
